Volunteers needed to assist with County Home activities

Residents at the Medina County Home are very fortunate to have a caring and creative Activity Coordinator, Amber Holahan.
Each month Amber works together with the residents to create an activity calendar that encompasses physical exercise, mental exercise, musical entertainment, seasonal outings and even the standard group games like Bingo.
If you are familiar with our FaceBook page, you will see we offer quite a variety of activities. With 40+ residents at varying levels of functioning, Amber needs assistance with all the different activities. That’s where our volunteers come in!
The Medina County Home relies on volunteers to assist with activities both on and off site. We have quite a variety of opportunities ranging from outings at the County Parks to Cornhole to Crafting to “Current Event” time. The commitment varies, and we can work with your schedule.
Potential volunteers are folks who may have known a resident at the County Home, someone that is passionate about the history of the Home and its purpose, or even someone not familiar with us but wants a fulfilling and meaningful part-time, flexible opportunity to make a real difference in the life of someone who needs the County Home.
We have several volunteers who have helped us out for over 10 years! Every volunteer will attend a two-hour training and will ease into their position. Training times are flexible. Each adult (21 and over) will need to pass a background check.
If you are not interested in a regular volunteer job, we do have opportunities for a group to come out and assist with our ground maintenance. Please call Amy Perrine at 330-722-9323 if you would like to know more. Thank you in advance from our staff and residents!
