Request for Statement of Qualifications – Hinckley WWTP Electrical Upgrade Project

Medina County Sanitary Engineers are issuing a request for Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the evaluation and replacement of electrical power distribution equipment at the Hinckley Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Hinckley WWTP was constructed in 1976 and the last major upgrade occurred in 1996. The upgrade included a new switchgear, automatic transfer switch, and transformers. Originally designed with two (2) separate incoming power sources, a 600 KW generator was installed in 2014 after one of incoming power sources was terminated. The switchgear shows signs of corrosion and repair parts for components in the switchgear and transfer switch are difficult to secure. There are a total of eight (8) motor control centers located in buildings across the plant of which four (4) are original General Electric and the other four (4) were replaced with Square D during the 1996 upgrade. They vary in condition, and repair components are difficult to locate.

MCSE is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide professional design services in the following categories: Design, Permitting, Contract Documents and Specifications, Bidding Process, and Construction Administration.
