NOTICE OF BID
Bids are requested for the improvement of the Human Services Parking Lot in Medina City, Medina County, Ohio.
Said improvement will involve the removal of existing concrete/asphalt parking lot, concrete base repair, construction of a new asphalt / concrete parking surface, sidewalk installation, trench drain, catch basin repair and pavement markings in accordance with the specifications and accompanying construction drawings.
Bid forms and specifications can be obtained from the Medina County Maintenance Garage, 1110 Lafayette Road (S.R. 42), Medina, OH 44256, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at a cost of $ 10.00. Electronic copies of the bid documents can be downloaded from the Medina County Engineer web page at www.highwayengineer.co.medina.oh.us free of charge.
All completed bids shall be remitted no later than April 8th, 2021, at 1:30 pm., Ohio Time, at the Medina County Maintenance Garage, 1110 Lafayette road (S.R. 42), Medina, OH 44256. All properly-filed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 1:30 pm meeting on the same day.
Bids must be submitted on the forms provided by the County and filed in a sealed envelope clearly marked, “HUMAN SERVICES PARKING LOT REPLACEMENT PROJECT” by the time and date set forth above.
The construction estimate for the project is $592,293.25. The lot replacement project shall have final completion date of September 3rd, 2021.
Each bidder shall be required to file a bid guaranty with the bid in the form of either: (1) a Bid/Performance Bond in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the amount bid; or (2) a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check or Letter of Credit shall equal to 10% of the amount bid, conditioned that the bidder shall, if his bid is accepted, execute a contract in conformity with the bid, plans, details, specifications and bills of material. A Letter of Credit shall be revocable only at the option of the County.
Additional documents that must be submitted with the bid are specified in the “Instruction to Bidders” portion of the bid documents.
All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contract compliance with the Equal Opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and the Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.
Bidders must comply with Prevailing Wage Rates on public improvements in Medina County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Labor and Worker Safety.
The bid will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder.
The Medina County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids.
