MCDL seeks applicants for Board of Trustees

Applications are now being accepted for residents interested in serving on the Medina County District Library Board of Trustees.

The library is seeking candidates to fill an unexpired term that will begin upon appointment and continue through Dec. 31, 2029. The application deadline is Friday, Aug. 7, 2026.

The Board of Trustees provides leadership and oversight to help ensure the continued success of the library system. Trustees develop policies for the operation of the library, review and approve the annual budget, oversee the hiring and evaluation of the Library Director and Fiscal Officer, and serve as advocates connecting the library with the community.

Ideal candidates are committed to intellectual freedom, dedicated to positioning the library for long-term success, and interested in representing the voices and needs of the community they serve.

Trustees are expected to attend regular and special board meetings, with regular meetings held on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Members also serve on at least one committee and participate in committee meetings as needed.

Applicants must be qualified electors (registered voters) residing within the Medina County District Library service area. Click here to download an application.

Residents who are passionate about lifelong learning and making a positive impact in their community are encouraged to apply before the August 7 deadline.

Completed applications should be returned to the Commissioners’ Office, 144 N. Broadway St., Medina, OH 44256. Applications may also be faxed to 330-722-9606 or emailed to rbeck@medinacounty.gov.
