Montville Township Park Improvements, Phase 3

Sealed bids will be received by the Medina County Department of Planning Services (DPS) at 144 North Broadway Street, Suite 113, Medina, Ohio 44256 until August 28, 2023, at 4pm. Bids will be opened and read publicly immediately thereafter for the construction of:

Project Name: Cobblestone Park, Phase 3 – Multi-Purpose Trail Project
Location:          Montville Township, Medina County
Description:     Site Preparation, Storm Drainage, Excavation and Embankment, Base Prep, and Concrete Paving

This contract shall be let in accordance with the bidding documents on file at the DPS.  The bidding documents can be obtained from the DPS by calling 330-722-9292, or emailing, or accessing online at  For more information or questions, please contact the phone number or email listed above.  All questions should be received 48 hours before the bid deadline.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of either:

  1. A certified check or cashier’s check made payable to the Medina County Commissioners or a letter of credit meeting the requirements of Chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code, in an amount equal to 10 percent of the bid amount conditioned to provide that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will enter into a proper contract for the work; or
  2. A Bid Guaranty and Performance Bond, for the full amount of the bid, written upon an acceptable surety company authorized to do business in the State of Ohio, conditioned as provided in Section 153.571 of the Ohio Revised Code.  A form of this bond is included in the Project Manual.

Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the DPS and filed in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Cobblestone Phase 3, Multi-Purpose Trail Project” by the deadline.

The estimate for the project is $135,696.00.  All construction must be completed by July 31, 2024.

All prospective bidders, contractors, and other interested parties are invited to attend an optional pre-bid meeting at 1:30 PM August 21, 2023 at the Montville Administration Building, 6665 Wadsworth Road, Medina, Ohio 44256.  Project requirements will be reviewed followed by a tour of the site.

 Bidders must comply with Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (Federal prevailing wage). 

 The bid will be awarded to the lowest and/or best bidder.  The Medina County Commissioners and the Montville Township Trustees reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities, and/or accept the Bid deemed the lowest and the best.
