Medina County Natural Gas Aggregation Program FAQs

Q: What is the Medina County Gas Aggregation Program?

A: The Gas Aggregation Program is a group buying initiative approved at the ballot in 2014 and allows Medina County residents and small businesses to secure competitive natural gas rates. The County has selected Archer Energy as the supplier for the program for the period of October 2026 meter read through the April 2029 meter read.

Q:  Who is eligible for the aggregation program?

A:  Most residential and small business customers within the unincorporated townships of Medina County who receive natural gas from Enbridge Gas Ohio or Columbia Gas of Ohio are eligible. Customers already enrolled with another supplier would need to opt in once their existing and separately negotiated contract expires.

Q:  Do I need to do anything to join the program?

A:  Eligible customers will be automatically enrolled unless they choose to opt out. You will receive a letter with details and instructions on how to opt out if you prefer not to participate.

Q: What are the rates under this program?

      New Fixed Rates
  • Columbia Gas of Ohio customers: $6.849 per MCF
  • Enbridge customers: $4.959 per MCF

Q: Will my utility provider change?

A:  No. Your utility — either Enbridge Gas or Columbia Gas — will continue to:

  • Deliver your natural gas
  • Maintain infrastructure
  • Handle billing and customer service

Q:  Is there a fee to join or leave the Medina County Gas Aggregation program?

A:  No. There is no fee to leave or join the Medina County Gas Aggregation program. You can leave the program at any time without penalty.

Q: Will I still be eligible for budget billing or other utility programs?

A: Yes. You will remain eligible for all existing programs and services offered by Enbridge Gas of Ohio or Columbia Gas of Ohio
