Safety Coordinator (Full-Time)

The Medina County Board of Commissioners are seeking a full-time Safety Coordinator for the Medina County Human Resources Department.  

The Safety Coordinator reports to the Loss Control/Risk Manager. In coordination with the Loss Control/Risk Manager and Human Resources Director, the Safety Coordinator would provide safety functions for the Medina County Sanitary Department and other departments as needed; assist in developing and maintaining safety policies and procedures; reviews and analyzes safety issues and recommends appropriate action to management; assists in evaluating and providing necessary safety training; maintains and provides reports as needed.    

Associate degree in business, communication, insurance, or safety related field. OSHA certifications preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health or safety and loss control or a combination of education and experience to perform the essential job functions of the job.  Employment experience in county government preferred.  Valid Ohio driver’s license, clean driving record and proof of adequate vehicle insurance. 

Hours: Office hours 8am–4:30pm, additional hours as needed. 

Benefits: Medical Insurance, Retirement Contributions, sick time, paid holidays. Vacation earned after 1 year of employment.  

Salary:   $25.00/hour
