Resident Care Aide (Part-Time)

The Medina County Board of Commissioners are seeking part-time Hospital Aides for the Medina County Home.

Provides basic resident care under the direction of the charge nurse and nurse supervisor.  Assists residents with personal hygiene, keeping them well-groomed and comfortable. Maintains resident’s rooms. Adheres to infection prevention and control procedures.  Practices effective communication techniques with residents, visitors, and coworkers.  Observes and monitors resident status.  Reports unusual occurrences or signs of illness. Assists in the serving of meals.

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience with geriatric patients helpful, but not required. Good communication skills. Friendly and respectful demeanor.  Ability to stand and walk for long periods throughout the day. Solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be able to work first (6 am-2 pm); second (2 pm-10 pm); or third (10 pm-6 am) at least three days a week to include rotating weekends and some holidays.

Employer contributions to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.  Earning of paid sick time.

$11.50/hour plus 2nd and 3rd shift differential and weekend bonus.
