Dogs Playing for Life™ coming to Dog Shelter October 18–19
This fall, the Medina County Dog Shelter is excited to welcome Dogs Playing for Life™ (DPFL) — an acclaimed national program that uses playgroups and enrichment to improve the lives of shelter dogs.
DPFL has transformed the shelter experience for hundreds of thousands of dogs across the country by focusing on canine well-being from the day they arrive until the day they find their forever home.
Through structured play, the program helps dogs build confidence, release energy, and display their true personalities — making adoption matches easier and more successful.
During the upcoming two-day seminar on Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 19, shelter staff and volunteers will learn:
• How to safely introduce dogs into playgroups
• Tips for managing different play styles and personalities
• Warning signs to prevent problem interactions
• How playgroups can improve adoption outcomes
To make this program a success, the shelter is seeking donations of supplies, including:
• Standard 6-foot and 10-foot clip leashes (no slip leads) – https://a.co/d/aV0Nvhi
• Flat collars (M–XL) – https://a.co/d/cgbEx4g
• Martingale collars (M–XL) – https://a.co/d/9di3Ogu
• Small spray bottles – https://a.co/d/aB5qVDv
• Empty 16 oz. water bottles, 20 oz. Gatorade bottles, or gallon milk jugs with lids
(Donation links are available on Amazon — please use the recommended options to ensure the correct equipment is purchased.)
Items should be delivered directly to the Dog Shelter at 6334 Deerview Ln., Medina, OH 44256.
By investing in canine enrichment, the Dog Shelter is helping more dogs not only live — but thrive — until they find their forever families.
