County’s Natural Gas Aggregation Program contract ending in June 2025; new supplier search underway
May 15, 2025 – Since 2014, Medina County has offered a natural gas aggregation program for participating residents and businesses within Medina County. The current contract term with the County’s natural gas government aggregation program supplier, Constellation, is coming to an end.
The supply rates associated with the program will end with the participants’ June 2025 meter read. It is important to note that natural gas service will not be interrupted, and there is no change to your existing utility company (Columbia Gas or Enbridge). Your utility company will continue to deliver your natural gas and bill you for it. Medina County is working on a new supply contract with new rates. Until a new supplier is identified, and a new contract takes effect, program participants will be returned to their utility company’s standard supply rates known as the Standard Choice Offer, or SCO.
If residents or small commercial customers have any questions about the transition process to the utility’s SCO rates, they may contact Constellation. Constellation’s phone number is 833-541-0487.
The energy markets have demonstrated significant volatility over the past several months. We will continue to work on renewing the program with a competitive supply price for natural gas that also provides price predictability and protection against significant market swings. We will keep the community posted on our progress. Once we have a new start date identified, eligible residents and commercial accounts will have the opportunity to once again participate.
