Board Opening Notice – Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities

The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) will have an opening for a Board Member effective January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2023. The MCBDD is the community resource responsible for connecting, coordinating and funding services for over 1,250 individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities in Medina County. It helps with everything from Early Intervention and Education opportunities for children to Employment and Community Inclusive Living for adults.

By design, the MCBDD Board is specifically comprised of a balance between members who have relatives with developmental disabilities and community members who do not have a direct connection to the field. Currently, the Board is looking for an individual from the community who does not have a family member receiving services from the MCBDD and who has experience or a background in law or legal services or social services/non-profit agencies. Applicants must be a Medina County resident, able to attend regularly scheduled monthly meetings, and complete an additional four hours of online training per year.

Additional information about Board Member roles and responsibilities may be found on the MCBDD website at www.mcbdd.org under the “About” tab. If interested in being considered to serve on the MCBDD Board, please contact Rhonda Beck at the Medina County Commissioners’ Office at rbeck@ohmedinaco.org or 330-722-9208.
